What is a “mini session”?

Mini sessions provide an excellent opportunity to get a professional portrait of your pet at a fraction of the cost. Whereas these mini-sessions are priced at $89 and include a couple of prints, a full pet portrait session typically runs $300 or more for just the sitting. By the time you add on a print or two, wall-displays, cards or some high-resolution digital files, you will likely have spent $500 to $2500, or more. With a mini session you are buying a fraction of the time of a full session at a fraction of the cost.

Can you get a really good portrait in 15 minutes?

Yes, but it will not be as custom as a full session, and you may not wind up with “the” shot—you know, the one where the perfect pet pose meets the perfect expression with the perfect lighting. During a full session, I would spend at least 30 minutes of time talking with you and playing with or petting your pet to establish rapport, comfort and trust. With at least an hour left for the shoot, I would custom design the lighting, reflectors and backdrop to bring out the very best in your pet, and likely change the setup one or two times to capture different “looks.” And I would have time to snap a lot more frames. Rapport, customization, variation and a multitude of shots together ensure that a great portrait will result. Mini sessions, on the other hand, must be done in a more standard and uniform manner using lighting and backgrounds set up in advance to work well with a number of dogs. And with only 15 minutes total available, there are only a few minutes to get comfortable before we start shooting. But, and this is the important point, you will still be getting the same photographer with the same experience photographing pets. And you will be getting quality lighting and attention to editing and finishing your images.

So, while I cannot guarantee that we will get “the” shot during a mini session, nearly all mini session clients are very happy with at least one of the images.

What if you need to reschedule?

Because mini-sessions are one-day only events, it is usually not possible to reschedule. You would need to cancel your booking and either apply the amount paid toward a full pet portrait or lifestyle session or, if eligible, accept a refund in accordance to the policies specified below.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds may be given for cancellations depending on when you provide advance notice of the cancellation, as follows:

  • You provide notice of cancellation at least 7 days before the event: 100% refund
  • You provide notice of cancellation 2-6 days prior to the event: 50% refund
  • You provide notice of cancellation less than 2 days before the event or you you fail to show for your appointment: no refund.

If preferred, you may opt for a credit of the full amount paid, which may be applied to a full portrait or lifestyle session of any type (pet, individual or family) booked within 90 days of the original event. Please note that full sessions are usually considerably more expensive than the credit you receive for a mini-session.

What if the event is canceled?

If the event is canceled by Jeffrey Morris Photography or the event host, you may choose any of the following means of compensation:

  • A full refund
  • If the event is rescheduled, a guaranteed slot on the new date at no additional charge
  • Credit toward a full portrait or lifestyle session of any type (pet, individual or family) booked within 90 days of the original event. Please note that full sessions are usually considerably more expensive than the credit you receive for a mini-session.

When will I get the images?

When will I get the images?

Approximately one week following the event, you will receive an email with a link to digital proofs--typically 2 or 3 will be available. You may download these files and share them on social media. Note that proofs contain my watermark and are low-resolution files that, while great for the web, are neither suitable or licensed for printing. 

As part of the mini-session package, you may select one of the images for prints (your package includes one 5x7" and your choice of either an 8x10" or an 11x14" print of the same image). If you like, you may add additional images to have printed, additional print sizes, mountings, framing, cards, wall displays or other products. If your order includes only photographic prints, you should receive them within 5-7 days. Some products may require an additional 3-5 days following any required layout and editing.

How do I reserve a session?

As mini-sessions are conducted as a one-day event, there number of available sessions is very limited. We therefore encourage you to book your session early. We do not accept reservations without a completed booking.
